Course Description

RISD CE SolidWorks course

Discover the essential industrial design tool SolidWorks 2016, used by engineers and designers worldwide. As a solid modeler utilizing a parametric system to define and describe key elements, SolidWorks has advantages in that important product attributes can be retained, with dimensions and relations informing the geometry. You'll learn the interface slowly, as you build a common project -- first as a 2D sketch and then by giving it dimension, relativity and, finally, virtual form. The workshop concludes with discussion of file types and output options to consider for further work with SolidWorks. No previous 3D experience needed!
