RISD CE kids course: Automata and Whirligigs

In the fantastic world of automata, a toy or kinetic structure can be brought to life with a self-operated mechanism. In this 3D design challenge, students become toy designers as they learn the skills and techniques to draft and build their very own mechanical toys. From da Vinci to Theo Jansen, they gain inspiration from historical and contemporary automata inventors.
