Course Description

Get a hands-on introduction to the popular Building Information Modeling (BIM) application Chief Architect, to help you design, build and modify higher-quality, more energy-efficient buildings. Used by builders, interior designers and architects (their Home Designer software is for DIY consumers) since 1992, it generates professional-quality 3D renderings, a full materials list, and 2D construction documents. Easier to use than other 3D CAD software packages, its plan files are shareable cross-platform (Mac or Windows). Learning Chief Architect will help you to become a more productive designer and to effectively convey your plans to customers and professionals. You'll discover how to lay out, design, build and render models, cover customizing family components, and create unique elements. In the course, your basic floor plan is imported, scaled and traced into a finished design and rendered as interior and exterior models.
