The art and techniques of architectural photography are explored in this course focusing on the built environment. Appropriately, it is a miles-wide classroom for the investigation of photographic techniques, from the technical rudiments of focus and exposure to the aesthetic decisions that inform compositional and framing choices. The course begins with a historical presentation, accompanied by class discussion leading to assignments in which students learn best practices and the many ways of viewing architecture that lead to better photographs.
