Course Description

Game designers transform simple ideas into immersive experiences. Classic games are imprinted on our earliest memories, and new games present novel forms of interaction. Today, social media and crowdfunding make this several-billion-dollar market more accessible than ever for new game designers.

Create your own tabletop games with visual storytelling, game mechanics and strategic gameplay. Devise rules that engage players and prototype components like cards, tokens and boards. Through hands-on playtesting and critique, refine your ideas into playable games that challenge and entertain. Ideate on designs with peer feedback and discover how board games create meaningful human connections.

Prerequisites

Students must be 13-17 years of age.
