Course Description

A city devoted to beauty in all its forms, Florence has been home to some of the greatest artists and patrons in European history. From its origins as a Roman encampment and Medieval banking powerhouse to its zenith as the cradle of the Renaissance, the streets, squares and buildings of Florence are time capsules of human achievement. This course will explore the colorful personalities who shaped the city, the artists and artisans who brought it renown through their work, and the extraordinary legacy of sublimely beautiful architecture, paintings, sculpture and gardens.

Prerequisites

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.
