Course Description

What role does drawing play in how we think, observe and communicate? This course invites you to question and redefine traditional notions of drawing by approaching it as an evolving, experimental process. We will explore drawing as documentation, communication, investigation and invention by using both traditional and unconventional tools and methods. Through hands-on exercises, critiques and interdisciplinary inquiry, you’ll expand your understanding of mark-making and explore drawing as a tool for observation, storytelling and conceptual thinking. Emphasis will be placed on process, material experimentation and cultivating a personal visual language. This course is ideal for artists seeking to expand their practice beyond conventional drawing methods and explore new ways of thinking through making.
