Course Description

Discover how watercolor’s fluid and spontaneous nature makes it the ideal medium for capturing the beauty and fleeting nature of the land and sea. In this course, you’ll learn how to “design” a sky using positive and negative space, and explore essential techniques for painting trees, water, various cloud types, and other natural features found in seascape and landscape painting.

Through focused observation, you will gain insight into how to translate and express what you see in the natural world and incorporate these elements into your paintings. Techniques such as wet-on-wet painting will help you achieve immediate results–bringing depth, mood and boldness to your work.
