9486 - Digital Tools for Illustrators
Course Description

In today’s industry, even traditional illustrators need a basic level of digital proficiency, as most artwork for mass production involves some digital processing. This course will equip you with the skills and confidence to navigate digital tools effectively, while emphasizing how a foundation in traditional media can enhance your digital work. Here, digital programs are approached as versatile tools to expand your capabilities, not as a prescribed style.
This course introduces digital media for illustrators through hands-on assignments using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Learn to master the technical features of each program as you develop creative solutions to illustration prompts. Assignments and exercises are designed to build essential digital skills, drawing inspiration from real-world illustration markets. Experiment with new techniques while preserving your unique artistic voice, particularly if it was developed through traditional media.
