Course Description

Preparing for college applications is best done in advance, and with support. Set up your portfolio for successful review by an admissions panel with the input of someone familiar with the process. We will provide an individualized approach based on your goals and your current portfolio. Begin by exploring college programs that interest you and learning what to consider when narrowing down your options. Familiarize yourself with their applications and portfolio requirements. Then, compare what they’re looking for with your existing portfolio. Complete assignments to build a well-rounded selection of work. Your instructor, peers, and teaching assistant will provide advice on what to include and what to develop further. When your portfolio pieces are ready, practice taking and formatting high quality images to show your work at its best. This course does not guarantee admission to any program, but intends to help prospective art school students understand and prepare for the college application process.
