Course Description

Artwork by Peter Cardoso

Creating compelling posters is an essential skill for graphic designers. This class will train you to put together eye-catching poster designs that will stand out from the crowd and actually make your clients pay attention. We will create poster designs based on a different theme each week. These might include recruitment, protest, or promotion of social events and products. We will review historical and contemporary examples to look at creative context and changing ideas in design. The end goal is to have a solid base in poster design that you can take with you into real-world projects.

Section Notes

This course requires access to Adobe Creative Suite or the option to complete projects by hand. If choosing Adobe, monthly subscriptions are available in a variety of pricing plans directly from Adobe—be sure to check your computer's "minimum system requirements" before purchasing.
