Course Description

While film is a visual artform, sound has always played an integral part of the film experience; so much so that even during the silent film era, films were screened with live music accompaniment. The moving image is incomplete without the sound that we expect to hear when we see that image, and this course will teach you how to best complement your image with sound. You will learn about the different layers of sound (dialogue, ambiance, effects and music) that contribute to a film’s soundtrack, how to edit the sounds that you wish to use in your video project, as well as how to export a final mix of your soundtrack.
