With the immediacy of social media and video capable smartphones, the possibilities for capturing and sharing your stories are just a few clicks away. Holding the attention of the viewer and telling a compelling story are the key considerations of filmmaking. In this course you will learn how to convey your ideas--whether you are creating fiction or capturing a slice of life--with a narrative structure and sense of pacing that keeps your audience engaged. You'll explore how the stages of planning, shooting and editing are essential to bringing a story to life. By the end of the course you'll have created a series of short and highly watchable pieces that are ready to post to various online platforms. Students will need to have access to a camera (phone camera is acceptable) and Adobe Premiere Pro.
