RISD CE interior design course

In this course, you will learn about textiles in a macro and micro sense of the fibers and how they are created with a focus on standards for sustainability used around the world. You will follow the manufacturing process of how the fibers become yarn. See how the yarn becomes fabric formations and they are different based on the manufacturing processes, techniques, and resources involved. The course includes interviews with key industry leaders about sustainability. Over six weeks, you will create a hypothetical product out of sustainable materials, specifically a room scene, a mood board, and a concept board for a sustainable room using sustainable materials.

Prerequisites

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.
