How have history, modernity, technology and global awareness shaped interior design? It is a rich story of revolutionary designers, radical inventors and social reformers. From the fantasy-based work of 18th-century decoration to the functional creations of the 20th-century Bauhaus, this course explores the gifted artists who shaped modern design. Students will learn how to analyze interiors, furniture and a wide array of decorative objects in diverse styles from the Rococo to the High Victorian, Arts and Crafts and Modernist eras.
