Course Description

You don't need to be a designer to take this workshop -- in fact, the less you know, the better! A common misconception, that you need to have experience in art and design to take RISD CE courses, was the impetus for this workshop. So come join us for a dynamic inquiry-based intensive that illuminates the process of design. Through a variety of visual exercises, you'll learn methods in critical thinking and making, which are the parallel competencies of thoughtful design practice. You will work independently and collaboratively while being asked to seek and solve design problems within our everyday environment through observation, documentation and implementation. All this is done in a fun and supportive environment, with an open mind being the only prerequisite!
