Course Description

RISD CE Children's Book Illustration course

The relationship between words and pictures is crucial to the process of illustrating and writing for children's books. This course provides a comprehensive exploration of this powerful dynamic and offers an opportunity to bring a passion project to fruition. A variety of texts are presented as prompts for assignments, but you may bring your own manuscripts to work on within the context of assignment goals. The emphasis is on giving you options and the freedom to choose texts and develop your ideas. Through a series of guided online presentations and projects, you will see how to pair images and text to bring your children’s book to life.
