Course Description

RISD CE kids course: Being Free

Freedom is an ideal that often comes with great struggle. This course presents the concept visually for the youngest of artists. Students hear the stories of freedom fighters, advocates and champions (both historical and fictitious), and connect them to their own experience as they create their own interpretive artworks. The projects encourage a dialogue about civil rights, our responsibilities to one another and the oppression, bigotry and bias that can threaten a free society.
