0490 - Jewelry Rendering
Course Description
Rendering by Tzu-Ju Chen
Top fashion houses and jewelry companies use hand-rendered drawings to show clients a potential design, to serve as a reference for fabrication purposes, or to advertise and promote a new collection. Whether you're a jeweler interested in creating stunning color renderings of your own designs, or simply interested in learning this rarified art, the color theory and drawing techniques introduced in this course show you how to realize your vision. The course starts with an introduction to the use and handling of Prismacolor markers and templates. Each successive session, you’ll work through a series of focused drawing exercises on materials, learning the techniques and skills necessary to render luminous metals and glittering gemstones with realistic color and dimension. Technical aspects like side views and specing will also be covered. By the end of the course, you’ll be on the way to creating dazzling renderings of your own jewelry designs. No prior drawing experience is necessary. Please budget for color markers, Micron pens and templates.
