Course Description

Take your interest in illustration into the digital space. Learn step by step how to translate your prior skills with traditional art mediums to software and tablets. Starting with an introduction to digital tools, you will learn how to use brush techniques and graphic effects, store projects as stable, transportable files, and create electronic art fit for freelance work or for your own enjoyment. 

Prerequisites

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.

Necessary Supplies

This course requires a digital drawing tablet compatible with Procreate or Adobe Photoshop. Students can use an iPad with an Apple pencil, compatible with either software. Creative tablets such as a Wacom Intuos, Bamboo, or Cintiq, or an equivalent, are compatible with Adobe Photoshop. A supply list will be available on the course site in Canvas at least 30 days prior to the first day of class. 

Once you have received your enrollment confirmation and logged in to Canvas, navigate to Upcoming Courses on the left-hand side of your dashboard. Supplies will be listed on your course homepage under the supplies heading. Some or all of your course supplies are available at the RISD Store.
