Course Description

From classics like Peanuts to the allegorical fantasy of The Arrival, sequential illustration captures the internal lives and voices of creators. Use autobiographical prompts to turn personal experiences into narratives beginning with a four-panel comic, and the two-page picture book spread. Then design original characters and fictional scenarios for a long-form final piece. Learn the fundamentals of panel shape, page layout, dialogue and sound effects. Watch ink media demos for an introduction to the cartoonist's trade. You’ll leave with a greater understanding of the many storytelling fields within the illustration industry. This course includes live online classes and independent work.
