Course Description

Writing for the screen requires the skills of creative writing alongside the ability to develop a narrative visually. The screenplay writer must be a master storyteller, creatively leading their audience through the twists and turns of their plot and at the same time must write in a way that includes what is seen and heard on screen. This course will start by teaching basic screenplay writing format and structure and then continue to explore storytelling and character development more broadly, using screenplay writing as an outlet for these skills.

Prerequisites

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.
