Course Description

Prepare for a photography career with the knowledge and resources you need to succeed in fine art, editorial or commercial photography. You'll learn how to create a strong portfolio, promote yourself and find exhibition and residency opportunities. We'll also cover how to land jobs, including assistant and digital tech roles. Plus, you'll get a solid understanding of important legal issues, such as contracts, copyright, and model releases.

Prerequisites

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.

All other prerequisites for Advanced Photography apply.

Necessary Supplies

This course requires a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) or a mirrorless camera. Additionally, you can expect to spend up to $125 (estimate) on supplies, equipment, software subscriptions, and/or books for this course. A supply list will be available on the course site in Canvas at least 30 days prior to the first day of class.

Once you have received your enrollment confirmation and logged in to Canvas, navigate to Upcoming Courses on the left-hand side of your dashboard. Supplies will be listed on your course homepage under the supplies heading. Some or all of your course supplies are available at the RISD Store.
