Course Description

This course examines photography as a versatile tool for contemporary self-expression. We'll cover its technical, conceptual and artistic aspects from past to present. You'll try new techniques to create and present images, and critically assess photography's potential. Finally, you'll produce a multi-week project accompanied by an artist statement to share for feedback.

Necessary Supplies

This course requires a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) or a mirrorless camera. Additionally, you can expect to spend up to $125 (estimate) on supplies, equipment, software subscriptions, and/or books for this course. A supply list will be available on the course site in Canvas at least 30 days prior to the first day of class.
