Course Description

Much of what we know about the world has come to us through the work of documentary photographers, whose curiosity and sensitivity have alerted us to a tremendous range of subject matter. Students in this course learn how to explore the world with their camera, developing and exploring documentary projects of their choice, in either color or black-and-white. Informal but comprehensive discussions of student work, as well as an historical overview of documentary photography, are combined to create a lively and supportive classroom. The course is an ideal experience for photographers who wish to tell their story in a meaningful way.
