9035 - Drawing from Nature (Part A)

Course Description

Focusing on form and structure, students work from real life using objects in their own nature collection using controlled lighting. We begin with fundamental, classical drawing methods of single, then multiple objects using graphite. Accurate measuring of proportion and use of a range of values is explored thoroughly. Line shading and tone are explored in graphite, then pen and ink line shading. Although the course is specialized in subject matter, skills attained here are applicable to a range of drawing subjects, media and styles.
