Course Description

Artwork by Sandra Pike

This course builds on the concepts introduced in Studio Lighting I: Portraits. You'll learn about setting up, styling and rigging for still life. You'll also photograph reflective objects and use gels and mixed color temperature lighting. Although strobes aren't required, we'll cover how to use flash, speedlights and external strobes. You'll create small-scale still lifes at home and explore options for more advanced setups. We'll also look at examples of historical and contemporary still life photographers.

Prerequisites
