0619 - Drawing and Abstraction

Course Description

This course challenges students to abstract from life, using various drawing tools and techniques to encourage nonrepresentational work. You’ll investigate line, shape, texture and spatial cues to create pictorial space. Examples of composition and compositional structures will help you understand how to connect parts into a unified whole. You’ll progress at your own pace, exploring conceptual issues and discovering new means of expression.

Painting Studies certificate students must take either 2240 Human Anatomy: Introduction or 0619 Drawing and Abstraction in Level II: Concentration.
