Course Description

Concept Visualization, Drawing and Communication

Effective business storytelling begins with enabling others to visualize your concepts, of which drawing is one part. However, you need not be an artist to tap into this component of visual thinking. Become more effective at communicating your thoughts externally through comprehension and practice of the simple sketching frameworks (explanatory and notational) that leverage color, symbols and other fundamental marks and forms. You'll explore visual storytelling techniques, participate in collaborative exercises, and practice symbolic sketching in order to better convey concepts to any audience. The systems learned in class will improve how you convey design concepts (on paper, whiteboards or electronically) and help you to engage audiences, elicit more contributions and speed prototyping, as well as summarize ideas and come to consensus.
