While mass production has made home furnishings more accessible, quality and uniqueness are harder to find. More and more people are drawn to upcycling as a way to live more sustainably. This class provides guidance, tools and techniques for those who are interested in furnishing their home with high-quality pieces that are uniquely theirs. Topics include choosing good candidates for refinishing, removing old surface treatments, adding new surface treatments, making minor repairs and applying some flourishes. Note: This course will focus on painting and gilding and does not cover major repairs or upholstering.
