9029 - Advanced Painting Concepts (Part A) - Representation to Abstraction
Course Description
Artwork by Laura Tom
In this advanced painting course concepts of style, technique, content and research are investigated, along with more sophisticated ways to express both representational and abstract issues. Students will begin by focusing on visual research rooted in landscape, still-life and architecture. Students continue to paint from life and observation as they slowly explore many ways of interpreting subject matter and move into abstract thinking. By the end of this course, students will use observational research to create abstract compositions.
