The inspiration for this class is travel photography, or photographing while traveling. Travel can be a vacation, a work trip or a day trip. Travel is movement: It can be a long walk through an unfamiliar neighborhood, or it can be the experience of looking at familiar sites from a tourist’s perspective. We will explore what constitutes an interesting travel photograph through assignments and examples. The goal of the class is to define your unique vision and understand what you like to look at when photographing a place. We will look for fresh perspective, meaningful recordings and all the ways a photograph transcends being simply a document of a specific time and place.
