Course Description

Artwork by Erika Anderson

This course is an in-depth exploration of Adobe software with a focus on detailed and challenging design projects. Explore the interdisciplinary relationship between imaging, coding, text, animation and video that come together as the designer's toolkit. Starting with producing animated graphics in Photoshop, and then comparing that workflow and output to video production in Premiere, the need for separation of software tasks becomes apparent. Drawing precise graphics in Illustrator rounds out the Adobe workflow as students then organize their projects into a dynamic JavaScript-based website. Ultimately this course serves as a powerful introduction to common but important tasks in the digital design field for freelancers and members of art production teams alike. The following are covered: Adobe Suite, Premiere, HTML, CSS, Javascript.

Students must be an adult age 18 or older to participate.
