9047 - Animation I: Ideas into Motion (Part A)

Course Description

Before ideas can be expressed as motion, aspiring animators must understand the underlying elements (keyframes, fields, level) and accompanying principles (cycles, sync, timing) that are specific to the art form. This course is for artists interested in exploring frame-by-frame moviemaking techniques.  We will look at examples of metamorphosis cycled movement and how the illusion of gravity is presented so that you gain a deeper understanding of this unique storytelling medium. You will learn 2D animation workflow best practices as you use digital tools to complete weekly assignments leading to a self-directed final project.
